Care Guide
How to Care for Fashion Jewelry
A practical care guide for keeping fashion jewelry polished, wearable, and ready for everyday styling.

Fashion jewelry is made to be worn often, but a little care keeps the finish brighter for longer. These notes apply to gold-tone, silver-tone, mixed-metal, pearl-finish, acrylic, bead, cord, and charm pieces sold by THE TRINKET EDIT.
Before wearing
Put jewelry on after fragrance, lotion, sunscreen, and hair products have dried. Direct contact with alcohol, oils, salt water, chlorine, and sweat can shorten the life of plated or coated finishes.
After wearing
- Wipe the piece gently with a soft dry cloth.
- Let it air out before placing it back into a pouch or box.
- Do not use abrasive polish, toothpaste, alcohol wipes, or ultrasonic cleaners.
Storage
Store pieces separately so chains, charms, beads, and stones do not scratch each other. Keep jewelry in a dry place away from direct sunlight and bathroom humidity.
When to avoid wearing
Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, cleaning, sleeping, or applying body products. For earrings, keep posts and closures clean and dry before storage.
